"All of us can think of a book... that we hope none of our children have taken off the shelf. But if I have the right to remove that book from the shelf -that work I abhor- then you also have exactly the same right and so does everyone else. And then we have no books left on the shelf for any of us."

Linda Whiting is working with Harney County Library director, Cheryl Hancock to bring together women artists for this special day at the Harney County Library.

Room for artists to display their talents will be set up throughout the library.  Work can be for display only or for sale.

This is a day for reflection, discussion, sharing and support.  The event is still in the planning stages so let us know if you can help or have any suggestions or recommendations.

Spread the word and let’s make this a day to remember.  Let us know as soon as possible whether you can attend, do a demonstration, perform or help.  You can still have a display of your work even if you can not attend.

For more information or to secure a display space contact

Cheryl Hancock at cheryl@harneycountylibrary.org or 541-573-6670
