PAGE IN PROGRESS
Launched in 2025, the Harney County Library Makerspace is a dynamic new hub for hands-on learning, creativity, and innovation -- right in the heart of rural Eastern Oregon. Made possible through funding from an LSTA grant by the State Library of Oregon, this space was designed to bridge opportunity gaps and provide our community access to high-quality STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) tools and programming.
From 3D printers and a laser engraver to podcasting gear, robotics kits, and video production tools, the Makerspace offers equipment that inspires imagination and skill-building. We have begun by focusing on in-house programs for elementary students, with a growing calendar of workshops, classes, and outreach events already underway. But this is just the beginning. Our long-term vision includes expanding services to teens and adults, for both programming and open lab time. The Makerspace is more than a room full of tech -- it's a launching pad for possibility. Come discover, learn, and build something new with us. |
