The Harney County Library has approximately 28,000 items in its collection. Formats include books, audiobooks, videotapes and DVDs, magazines, reference books, and a non-circulating collection in the Western History Room. Public computers are available to patrons and visitors for one hour of use per day.

IMAGES OF AMERICA: HARNEY COUNTY is the newest book about Harney County history. This book, produced by staff of the Claire McGill Luce Western History Room, features photos from the combined collections of the Claire McGill Luce Western History Room and the Harney County Historical Museum along with photos from the private collections of families throughout the county. A portion of the proceeds from this book are contributed to the Harney County Library Foundation.
