Frequently Asked Questions
I lost or damaged my library book… now what?
If you have lost a book or other library item, or if the item is damaged, the library will charge you the original retail price of the item. A staff member can tell you the cost of the item. Our policy is that we don’t let patrons replace missing or damaged books as it is important that the replacement be the proper edition, physical condition, and correct title.
How much are copies?
$.10 for black and white / $.50 for color or 11x17 copies
How long can I keep library books?
The checkout period is three weeks. Following that and assuming there are no open holds on the item, you may renew it twice.
How can I renew my library book?
You can give us a call at 541-573-6670, come into the library, or do it yourself online. To do so, visit the catalog login page. Your default login information is as follows:
Username: Your library barcode number (the number will begin with 277200000....)
Password: The last four digits of the phone number you registered your account with.
After initial login, you may assign yourself a new username and password. To renew items, go to 'Account Information', then to 'Items Checked Out', tick the boxes of the items you would like to renew, then click the green 'GO' button.
Please note, if the item is an ILL (it was ordered from outside the system and the title is preceded with ILL), please contact the library if you would like to renew.
Why am I unable to renew an item on my account?
There are several reasons why you would be unable to renew an item on your account. You may be out of renewals, there may be an active hold on the item, or the item may be overdue. If the item is overdue but still has renewals yet left, please come into the library or give us a call and we can renew it for you.
Can I scan a document and have it sent to my email?
Patrons are welcome to use the copier or have a staff member assist. Documents can also be scanned to a flash drive. There is no charge for this service.
Can I request a book or movie for HCL to buy?
Patrons can request through staff or use the library website contact page, Contact Library, to request we buy items.

Can I bring in my laptop and print something?
While you can’t print directly from your laptop, we have a flash drive available that you can transfer your documents on to and print directly from the printer. You can also email the file to yourself and access one of the available public computers.
Is there a way to see what I have requested or checked out in the past?
Library staff members cannot see your check out history, but you can set up your account in Sage to retain that information and make it viewable to you in the future. Log into your account, go to ‘My Account’, go to ‘Account Preferences’, go to ‘Search and History Preferences’, and then tick the box that says ‘Keep history of checked out items? ’ or ‘Keep history of holds? ’. Please keep in mind that the history starts on the day you set up your account, it will not show previous checkouts or holds.
